From the first time I heard it, it seemed like Taylor read New Moon and immediately went and wrote this song lol. Could be reaching here but maybe she pitched it for the New Moon soundtrack… Speak Now came out only a year after NM. I stumbled upon this edit and realized something... The reason why people love hiccstrid so much is due to the fact that their relationship feels realistic. Sure the world isn't realistic at all but their relationship grew how you'd expect a normal relationship to grow. Not forced, nor rushed. Just the perfect representation of a relationship. Not only that the amount of development they went through with the first movie, the series, and the second was perfectly done. This ship is one of the best ships ever in animation history because of that.
